Arkitettini
is run by young interdisciplinary architect Fran Cassar who graduated with a Masters in Architecture (Architectural Design) in 2022 from University of Malta.

She has a special interest in social design, anthropology, migration, identity, spatial agency and community-centered projects. Fran has worked as an architect, and now has shifted to a focus in community engagement.

Since 2018, she has also participated, organised events and tutored at EASA (European Architecture Students Assembly) Network events. EASA is a platform where students explore alternative architectural education through workshops and assemblies. In 2025 she co-tutored a workshop called Borderline Il/legal for SESAM Identity in Nicosia

She has also spent two years teaching at Maltese summer schools Skola Sajf and loves engaging with kids and creating playful environments of tactile learning.

Fran sees informal and alternative architectural education as foundational in gaining problem-solving skills and learning to think critically from different perspectives.

She started this course and workshop because of a passion she holds in sharing this way of thinking with children; encouraging them to become critical of the world being constructed around them, and helping them unleash their creativity.

Above all Fran also believes architecture can be super fun and exciting to learn! No one should be excluded from the conversation, and especially not children!
